BHOPAL: With an aim to provide advanced agricultural machines and implements to farmers, the Madhya Pradesh Government has inked three MoUs with three reputed companies at the Haldhar Krishi Expo here.

The MOUs were entered into yesterday with leading agriculture companies of the world, in tune with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's vision to turn agriculture into a profitable venture, an official said today.

The agreements were signed with Maschio-Gaspardo of Italy, Kubota of Japan, and Fiat (India) Private Limited of New Holland, an official release issued on the occasion said.

These MoUs have been signed by the Directorate of Agricultural Engineering with these companies having reputation world over for their excellence in manufacturing advanced farm implements and technologies, it said.

Maschio-Gaspardo has 13 plants in the country. Recently it established a new plant at Pune. The company would help boost production of soybean, maize and cotton by providing advanced technologies and machines.

It would make available SP Numatic, multi crop power harrows, fertiliser spreaders and shredders to the Directorate of Agricultural Engineering.

Kubota company of Japan would help the Agriculture Department in enhancing productivity of paddy in the state. Internationally renowned for manufacturing tractors and other farm implements the company has recently set up a plant at Chennai, it said.

The company will provide self propelled rice transplanters and seedling machines to increase productivity of paddy through mechanised paddy plantation in the state.

As per the MoU signed with Fiat Company of New Holland, the company would help the farmers with the cooperation of the state government to boost production of sugarcane, cotton, maize and soybean.

The company has agreed to make available 18 machines including sugarcane harvester, baler-rack, cotton picker, fodder maize harvester, Numatic cotton planter and sugar infielder, it added.
