J&K govt promotes fruit cultivation

The Jammu and Kashmir government has taken several steps to promote fruit cultivation in the state including acquisition of 60 acres of land in Kulgam.


SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has taken several steps to promote fruit cultivation in the state including acquisition of 60 acres of land in Kulgam.

A state horticulture department spokesperson said on Wednesday that the government is also providing fruit plants to orchardists at 75 per cent subsidised rates.

The department has also brought 36 hectares of land in Dooru of Anantnag district and 30 hectares of land in Dachnipora horticulture zone under a programme to reclaim senile orchards.
