Jain Irrigation bags largest order for onion & vegetables division

MUMBAI: Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd (JISL) has bagged the largest single order for its dehydrated onion and vegetables division to the value of Rs 270 millions from one of its European customers. The order is for supply of dehydrated
white onion in the calendar year 2009.

Ashok Jain, vice chairman, Jain JISL said "Indian onion dehydration industry has grown rapidly to become the second largest producer of dehydrated onions in the world. JISL is the only company in the organized sector in this field dealing in nearly 40% of the total exports of dehydrated onions from India."

The company continues to invest to expand its product range and to strengthen backward linkages with the farmers in order to become major supplier of fruit & vegetable products in world market.
