Haryana cane farmers paid 98 per cent of their dues for 2012-13
Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills has released 98.86 per cent of the total payment to the farmers for procuring sugarcane in 2012-13.

He said farmers have been given Rs 786.44 crore out of a total of Rs 795.49 crore for procuring 292.73 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
Haryana has paid the highest rates to the sugarcane growers in crushing season 2012-13 -- Rs 276 per quintal for early, Rs 271 per quintal for mid maturing and Rs 266 per quintal for late maturing varieties, he added.
The spokesman said keeping in view the welfare of sugarcane growers, the state advisory price (SAP) has been increased upto Rs 159 per quintal during last eight years or so.
He said the State government has given Rs 100 crore to Cooperative Sugar Mills as financial assistance, adding, with a view to develop new variety of sugarcane seed, a tissue culture laboratory has been set up at Cooperative Sugar Mill, Karnal at a cost of Rs 1.24 crore.
Apart from this, a decision for expansion and modernisation of Panipat Sugar Mill and to set up a 15 MW co-generation plant had also been taken.
A 15 MW Co-generation plant would also be set up at Palwal Cooperative Sugar Mills under PPP mode.
