Haryana agriculture marketing board allows maximum of two licenses of commission agent per shop

AHMEDABAD: The Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board has allowed maximum of two licenses of commission agent of category-II for each shop in the state.

"In view of the increase in business in grain markets , the applications for the number of licenses under section 10 were more than the shops available. Hence we have come to this decision,"said a Board spokesperson.

In case of booths, the licencescould be granted where open space or private platform is available in front of booths. "If open space or private platform is not available in front of booths, but space or private platform of market committee is available elsewhere, the committee will create a designated rental platform . Such designated rental platform will be used for allowing booth holders who did not have open space or individual platform in front of their booths or licensees who could not get a shop in auction or licensees who were not eligible for getting shops on reserve price by lying user charges or rent which will be fixed by the Board as per norms of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, " he added.

However, such licensees would not be allowed to raise any structure whatsoever on the designated space. Such designated space would be given only per season or per year as applicable and would be changed every year. He said that out of the unsold booths, five booths would be kept reserved in the mandi for other activities like fertilizers, Bank, ATM and grocery shops. In case the mandi is shifted in future, the booth licencees and other categories as mentioned above would have no right to claim any plot or shop on reserve price.Also, the benefit of allotment of shop or plot on reserve price would be given to the old or senior of the two licensees.

He said that Secretaries of all Market Committees in the State have been directed to issue or renew license as per this policy in case of allowing maximum two licenses per shop, he added.
