Hafed introduces organic wheat

The Haryana Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (Hafed) has introduced organic Wheat in 25 kg packing.

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (Hafed) has introduced organic Wheat in 25 kg packing.
It will also start marketing organic Kachchi Ghani Mustard Oil in 500 ml bottle from next fortnight onwards in view of the rising demand of organic food among people.
Stating this here today, Agriculture Minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha said that more and more people were becoming health conscious and have started preferring consumption of organic food.
Initially the wheat was made available at Hafed Retail outlets at Chandigarh and Panchkula.
Hafed Organic wheat, alongwith other Hafed Consumer Products, would also be available at concessional rates at the prestigious Mango Mela being organised at Pinjore on July 5 and 6 in which Hafed was putting up a stall for retail sale of its products, he added.
Chatha said that to provide such food items to the people at reasonable rates and also to promote organic farming in an organised manner in the state, Hafed had undertaken Group Organic Certification of farms of 1320 farmers in the district of Kurukshetra, Karnal and Kaithal.
