NEW DELHI: The government today said it has decided to retain the minimum support price (MSP) of toria, an oilseed similar to rapeseed, at Rs 3,020 per quintal for this year.

Toria is planted often as a relay crop between kharif and rabi crops.

According to an official release, government has kept unchanged the MSP of toria of fair, average quality (FAQ) to be grown this year and marketed in 2015-16 at Rs 3,020 per quintal.

The MSP has been determined on the basis of normal price differential between toria and rapeseed/mustard seed, it said.

The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India ( NAFED), Central Warehousing Corporation, National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India ( NCCF) and Small Farmers' Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC) will continue to act as the central nodal agencies to undertake price support operation of Toria to be marketed in 2015-16.
