Government committed to making soil healthier: PM Narendra Modi
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reaffirmed his government's commitment to making the soil healthier for the benefit of farmers.

"On World Soil Day, we reaffirm our commitment to making our soil healthier. When soil is in good heath, our farmers get more wealth," the prime minister tweeted.

He said that from Saturday, "there will be nationwide initiatives where farmers will get soil health cards and other inputs".

The government launched the Soil Health Card scheme in February.

"Best wishes to farmers and officials. Government's Soil Heath Card is an endeavour to improve the health of the soil and provide guidance to our farmers on soil related issues," Modi tweeted.
