Fish farmers, entrepreneurs felicitated in Bhopal
Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Fisheries Moti Kashyap felicitated three fish farmers and entrepreneurs from the country for their contribution in the field.
Kashyap honoured - Kunwar Bisen (Balaghat, MP) for outstanding contribution in fish farming and - G R Eshwara (AP) and Shaji Chako for remarkable success in fish marketing.
Addressing the function organised by Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai in Hoshangabad yesterday, Kashyap said intensive efforts made in the field of pisciculture have brought good results. During the last three years the state has registered remarkable increase in fish production and in fish seed collection.
Calling upon the fish farmers, he said traditional fish farming with advanced technology creates a promising fusion.
He asked the farmers to take optimum advantage of increasing water area in Madhya Pradesh for fish farming and said the government provides subsidy upto Rs 50,000 to construct ponds on its fields.
On the occasion, the Minister also inaugurated `Prawn Hatchery' at Powarkheda Centre.
Fish farmers presented their views and problems during an interactive session held on the occasion.
The CIFE organised the celebration ceremony to mark the Fish Farmer's Day.
