Exports of soybean meal up by 12.25% in April-December 2011

The export of soybean meal during April - December 2011 has been pegged at 25,98,072 tonnes, which is 12.25% higher that the corresponding period of the previous year.

KOLKATA: The export of soybean meal during April - December 2011 has been pegged at 25,98,072 tonnes, which is 12.25% higher that the corresponding period of the previous year, according to Soybean Processors Association of India. In the period April-December 2010 the exports of soybean meal was 23,14,432 tonnes.

Exports of Soybean meal during December, 2011 was 7,78,382 tones as compared to 6,12,066 tones in December, 2010 showing a increased by 27.17% over the lastyear.

During the current financial year Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Iran are the major destinations for Indian soybean meal exports. During current oil year, (October - September), exports during October 2011 to December 2011 is 14,69,212 tonnes as against 14,66,543 tonnes last year, showing a marginal increase.
