NEW DELHI: The department of agri meteorology, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural university, Hisar has predicted variable weather, partly clouds and scattered rain drops at isolated places in the state from August 28 to September 2.

A spokesman of the university said that in view of these weather conditions, the farm scientists of the university have advised the farmers for constant monitoring of american and desi cotton crops against whitefly and sucking pests and spray the recommended insecticide when weather is clear. He said that due to humid weather, there may be attack of whitefly and incidence of bacterial leaf blight. They were advised for the spray of recommended insecticides or pesticides when the weather is clear.

He said that the farmers are advised to start the sowing of palak, methi, brinjal, chilli, onion and early cauliflower on ridge. They have been advised that it is the right time to transplant the fruit and shade plants. The farmers have also been advised to complete the sowing of green fodder crops.

In the next 24 hours the maximum temperature may vary between 31.9 degree to 36.8 degree Celsius and minimum may be between 25 to 27.1 degree Celsius. The average wind speed would range from 2.4 to 5.2 kilometer per hour.
