Centre to create of 3,47,000 MT additional storage facility in Assam

Centre will construct 11 new food grains go downs at different locations in the state of Assam to strengthen Public Distribution System.

GUWAHATI: For stocking food grains the government of India has decided to increase the storage capacity, the Centre will construct 11 new food grains go downs at different locations in the state of Assam to strengthen Public Distribution System.

These godown to be constructed or expanded by the Food Corporation of India ( FCI), will add food grain storage capacity of 3,47,000 MT in the state of Assam. Besides this additional storage capacity will also be crated at three existing locations in the state.
