CCSHAU-Hisar enters into an agreement with Indian Seeds Corporation Ltd

AHMEDABAD: The Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University(CCSHAU), Hisar has entered into an agreement with Indian Seeds Corporation Ltd of Uttarakhand and Vanshika milk agro and Plastics Pvt. Ltd company of Hisar for manufacturing and marketing of DH-1 variety of dhaincha seeds developed by the CCSHAU for use in green manure and urea inspection kit for checking of milk.

The agreement was signed by the Research Director of the University, Dr R.P. Narwal and representatives of Indian Seeds Corporation Ltd. of Uttarakhand and Vanshika Milk Agro and Plastics Pvt. Ltd., Dr M.Z. Kawarsi and Mr Manjeet Singh respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Narwal informed that recently, the University had signed 17 agreements with private companies with a view to promote technological commercialization. He said that this was the first agreement of its kind which had been made especially for commercialization of dhaincha seeds. He added that this was the only University in the entire northern India which was promoting this variety of seeds. He assured both the companies of full cooperation on behalf of the university.

The Human Resource Management Director, Dr Rakesh Kashyap said that the credit for commercialization of technologies through Public Private Partnership went entirely to the Business Planning and Development unit of the University. He said that this was the second agreement with the Indian Seeds Corporation Ltd. as before this another agreement had been signed for promoting four different varieties of maize. He also informed that this was the second agreement with any company for manufacturing and marketing of urea inspection kit for milk.
