CCEA fixes MSP for toria at Rs 3,560 per quintal
NEW DELHI: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has fixed the minimum support price (MSP) of toria (from the mustard family) at Rs 3,560 per quintal for the 2016-17 season to be marketed in 2017-18, agriculture ministry has said.

The Cabinet took the decision to fix MSP for toria in 2017-18 market season on the basis of normal market price differentials between toria and rapeseed and mustard. The decision was taken by Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry on December 5, the ministry said in a statement.

The Food Corporation of India would continue to be the central nodal agency for procurement of pulses and oilseeds, the ministry said. Other agencies such as National Agriculture Cooperative Marketing Federation of India ( NAFED), National Cooperative Consumer Federation ( NCCF), Central Warehousing Cooperation ( CWC) and Small Farmers Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC) may also undertake procurement of oilseeds and pulses according to their capacity.
