Compared to the previous marketing season of 2024-25, where the MSP was Rs 5,335 per quintal, this is a hike of Rs 315 per quintal. The new pricing aims to provide better remuneration to jute farmers and promote sustainable agricultural practices in the sector.
This decision marks a steady increase in the MSP of raw jute over the years. In 2014-15, the MSP stood at Rs 2,400 per quintal. The latest figure of Rs 5,650 per quintal represents a 2.35-fold increase over the past decade, showcasing the government’s commitment to improving farmers’ incomes.

In addition, the Union Cabinet approved continuation of National Health Mission for another five years.
Goyal pointed out that nearly 12 lakh healthcare workers joined the National Health Mission (NHM) between 2021 and 2022 and India fought the Covid-19 pandemic under the Mission.
