Bunge eyeing Rs 1,500 cr turnover this year

CHENNAI: Agri-business firm Bunge India Pvt Ltd today said it is expecting a revenue of Rs 1,500 crore this fiscal as against Rs 1,100 crore it achieved last year.

Besides, it has set a sales target of Rs 80 crore from its new variant of the Dalda edible oil range-Dalda Refined Sunflower oil.

The company, which took over the Dalda brand from Hindustan Unilever (formerly Hindustan Lever Ltd) in 2003, is looking at a market share of 25 per cent from its vanaspati products by 2010 and 25 per cent in oils by 2011, Bunge India Pvt Ltd Managing Director Adhiraj Sarin told reporters here on Thursday.

US-based Bunge has operations in about 30 countries and runs 400 facilities across the world. It was looking at a turnover of Rs 1,500 crore from its Indian operations this year as against Rs 1,100 crore last year, Sarin said.
