This announcement came during the presentation of the 14th consecutive Budget under the Narendra Modi administration since 2014.
Sitharaman also revealed that the government will boost the credit guarantee cover for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to enhance their access to credit. Additionally, the government plans to launch customized credit cards with a limit of Rs 5 lakh specifically for micro-enterprises.
The finance minister highlighted that the Kisan Credit Cards will aid 7.7 crore farmers, fishermen, and dairy farmers by providing them with short-term loans.
Besides, she also mentioned that well-managed export-oriented MSMEs will be eligible for term loans of up to Rs 20 crore.
