LUDHIANA: Britain has shown interest in promotion and development of agri-processing industry in Punjab by providing technical know-how to the state farmers.
British High Commissioner to India Sir Michael Arthur, who is on a visit to Punjab, told reporters today that Britain can play a key role in bolstering the potential of agri- processing in the state by facilitating partnership between British companies and the local farmers.
Arthur also said that Britain was going to organise a Veterinary fair in September this year. "We would like to invite people from Punjab to participate in it to know the latest technology in the sector," he said.
Stating that nearly 5 lakh Indians visit Britain every year, he cautioned visa seekers against becoming victim of fraudulent consultants, who make false promise of guaranteed visa for Britain.
