Bharat International Rice Conference 2026 to showcase 200 rice varieties and 50 global cuisines
The event will be held from October 23–25 in New Delhi, featuring nine curated experience zones highlighting rice through culture, technology, innovation, nutrition and global trade.

The previous edition of the BIRC attracted 10,854 visitors, including 1,083 international buyers from more than 90 countries, along with 154 exhibitors representing the rice value chain.
“Rice is increasingly being viewed not simply through the lens of production, prices and exports, but also through food security, sustainability, climate resilience, biodiversity, technology, value addition and changing consumer preferences,” said IREF.

It added that BIRC 2026 will trace the evolution of rice cultivation, consumption and trade across generations, examine the different ways rice is used beyond food, and illustrate how rice has travelled across regions and helped shape global trade networks.
Seeds, biodiversity, agricultural innovation, and the relationship between AI technology and rice, are the key zones of the event, it said.
