Bajaj supports Kamal Nath on walkout at G4 meet

PUNE: Bajaj group chief Rahul Bajaj, on Sunday, supported commerce minister Kamal Nath’s walkout at the Potsdam G4 meet on the Doha round.

Mr Bajaj criticised the US and the EU for turning a blind eye on the harmful effects of their subsidies on Indian agriculture sector.

“To top it, they are seeking reduction in industrial tariffs in return for reducing (not eliminating) their unreasonable subsidies in agriculture. And that too with developing countries having to cut duties more than the reduction in subsidies by the US & EU,” he added.

The Doha round is meant to correct past injustices against developing countries and not increase them, the Press release said.
