Arunachal Pradesh to receive 89,000 tonne of foodgrains from Centre
Arunachal Pradesh will continue to receive 89,000 tonne of foodgrain, official sources said today.

Union Minister of Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution K V Thomas informed this to Arunachal Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kamlung Mossang in a letter yesterday, the sources said.
Mossang had in August written to Thomas, expressing concern over the reduced allocation of foodgrains to the state under the NFSO, and requesting continuation of the present APL allocation.
The "tide-over allocation will be made to eligible states and union territories at the existing APL prices, i.e, Rs 6.10/kg for wheat and Rs 8.30/kg for rice, the minister said in the letter.
Welcoming the development, Arunachal Pradesh Food and Civil supply department's monitoring and vigilance committee chairman Toko Anil said the confusion over the continuity of APL foodgrain in the state has now been resolved.
