APEDA to open market facilitation centres in Japan
Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority is planning to open market facilitation centres for floriculture in Japan and the Middle East.
These centres would facilitate direct export of flowers, APEDA Assistant General Manager R Ravindra said. APEDA already has a similar centre in Amsterdam.
APEDA is looking into product diversification in floriculture. Besides, roses, marigold would be sent to Europe, jasmine to South Asia and lillium to Europe.
India's floriculture industry should concentrate on Australia, Japan, Middle East and Europe, Ravindra said.
