Alternative marketing for cardamom bypassing auctions

Cardamom growers from the south are being invited to the upcoming India International Trade Fair in New Delhi for marketing their produce.

KOCHI: Aiming to develop alternate direct marketing system to bypass the auction system, the Spices Board is offering new trading platforms for farmers.

Cardamom growers in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are being provided an opportunity in the coming India International Trade Fair in New Delhi for marketing their produce in the potential North Indian market, a board press release said today.

The Spices Board will make available facilities for showcasing and entering into marketing tie-ups with merchants and dealers of cardamom in the major markets of Delhi besides Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan.

The Board will be setting up a cardamom theme pavilion at the Pragathi Maidan from November 14-27 during the India International Trade Fair, the iconic annual event of the India Trade Promotion Organisation which is the largest trade fair in India.
