New Delhi: The agriculture ministry has issued an alert about suspicious seed parcels after reports of such unsolicited packets of suspected Chinese origin reaching people in USA and Europe. “We are already fighting with Covid-19 pandemic which has originated from China. Now if any such pandemic is transported through seeds then it will be difficult to handle. We need to be extra careful,” an agriculture ministry official told ET. The ministry has issued the alert to states, agricultural universities, seed associations, certification agencies and the Indian Council for Agricultural Research.
