65% sowing completed in Rabi season in Chhattisgarh
Around 65 per cent of sowing of crops has been completed in the ongoing Rabi crop season in Chhattisgarh.

"The farmers have completed sowing of Rabi crops and vegetables on around 11 lakh hectares of land against the proposed target of 17 lakh hectares in the state. So far 65 per cent sowing of crops in Rabi season has been completed," Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal said today.
"The target is of sowing food grain crops, pulses, oilseeds and vegetables on nearly 17 lakh hectares in Rabi season this year in the state," he said.
At present, paddy, corn, barley and wheat have been sown on nearly 1.42 lakh hectares, the minister said.
Likewise, sowing of pulses crop including gram, lentils and others on 6.40 lakh hectares area have been completed, he added.
Vegetables have been cultivated on 1.08 lakh hectares while the target is of planting sugarcane on 30,000 hectare area in this season, he added.
