50 lakh metric tonne paddy procured in Chhattisgarh
About 50 lakh metric tonne paddy has been procured from farmers in Chhattisgarh during the ongoing kharif season under support price scheme.

"49,95,058 metric tonne paddy has been procured so far at cooperatives societies across the state," an official statement here said today.
As many as 1,976 procurement centres have been set up for the process which was started from December 1 and would conclude by this month end.
As per data, highest procurement of 5,08,535 metric tonne was recorded in Mahsamund district followed by Janjgir- Champa (4.73 mt tonne), Balodabazar-Bhatapara (4.30 lakh mt tonne), Rajnandgaon (4.12 lakh mt tonne) and Raipur (3.78 lakh mt tonne), the release said.
High procurement was recorded in Dhamtari, Durg, Raigarh, Bemetara and Bilaspur districts, it added.
