US-based Eaton’s aerospace division, which has factories in Bengaluru and Coimbatore, is exploring opportunities around the 'Make in India' programme and is looking to expand its manufacturing capability in the country, a top executive told ET.

Eaton, which primarily provides power management solutions, is looking to also aid in the country’s transition to renewable energy, helping to solve its power management challenges, Desmond Goh, managing director, Asia Pacific, at Eaton Aerospace Group, told ET on the sidelines of the Aero India show in Bengaluru.

The NYSE-listed company had reported global revenue of $20.8 billion in 2022. In the aerospace sector, Eaton provides hydraulic, fuel, oxygen, air conveyance, electrical, motion control and engine solutions and services. It serves commercial and military aerospace.

"We've contributed to the growth of both military and commercial aviation sectors, along with the platforms being introduced to these markets by global OEMs," Goh said.

In India, Eaton Aerospace provides engineering support from Pune. It helps India’s air force, navy and Hindustan Aeronautics in maintenance and repair of equipment procured from abroad.

"The fact that we have set up a manufacturing plant from the ground up in Bengaluru and not just talking about partnership shows that we're firmly committed to the India story," Nikhil Joshi, country manager for the Aerospace Group at Eaton in India, told ET.

The company is also helping accelerate the country’s transition to renewable energy, helping to solve the most urgent power management challenges, Joshi said.

"We are continuing to explore opportunities with our customers on what more we can do for 'Make in India', and based on that we will develop our strategy and expand our manufacturing,” he said.
