Watch video: Evolution of IAF over 83 years

NEW DELHI: An integral part of country's defence arm, the Indian Air Force ( IAF) on Thursday, celebrates its 83rd anniversary. "It is our duty to remember and honour the sacrifices of the air warriors who defended the nation. Under unfavourable conditions, it is the man behind the machine that matters the most," said Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha on the occasion.

In a much anticipated move, the IAF chief also announced that the Air Force is now planning to induct women into the fighter aircraft stream.

On the occasion, IAF released a short documentary on the "Evolution of Indian Air Force" over the last 83 years. We take a look at it:
