Vice Admiral SN Ghormade took over as the new Vice Chief of Naval staff succeeding Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar. He was earlier the Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Operations & Training) in the Integrated Defence Staff headquarters.
