Watch as Israel successfully downs two drones over Mediterranean sea amid heightened tensions

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) reported intercepting two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Mediterranean Sea on Sunday. A missile ship successfully intercepted the drones, which were launched from the east in the northern sea area. Additionally, the Israeli Air Force intercepted another drone off the coast of Gush Dan.

These interceptions occur amid rising regional tensions, as Israel continues its military operations against Hezbollah and Hamas in Lebanon. Recent Israeli military actions have targeted various locations linked to these militant groups.



On Saturday, powerful explosions were reported in Beirut’s southern suburbs due to expanded Israeli bombardment in Lebanon. This includes strikes in a Palestinian refugee camp in the north, targeting both Hezbollah and Hamas fighters.

Thousands of people in Lebanon, including Palestinian refugees, are fleeing the escalating conflict. Earlier Israeli strikes in the northern Beddawi camp resulted in the death of a Hamas official, his wife, and their two young daughters. Additional strikes in the eastern Bekaa Valley killed another member of Hamas.

On Monday, Israel will observe the first anniversary of the Hamas attack on October 7, which initiated the Gaza conflict and has escalated into a broader crisis affecting Lebanon. This attack led to the deaths of 1,205 individuals, primarily civilians. In retaliation, Israel’s military actions in Gaza have resulted in at least 41,825 fatalities, with a significant number being civilians, according to the health ministry in the Hamas-governed region. The UN has confirmed the accuracy of these figures.
