US Military prepares Iran strike options for Trump

According to Axios, CENTCOM has drawn up plans for a "short and powerful" wave of strikes on Iran, potentially targeting infrastructure. Another option includes securing parts of the Strait of Hormuz to restore commercial shipping.

WASHINGTON: Senior US military officials are set to brief Donald Trump on potential military action against Iran later on Thursday, a US official said.

The briefing will include Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command, along with Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Caine.

The official did not specify the options to be discussed but said the focus would be on measures to push Iran toward negotiations to end the conflict.

The White House and Central Command did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Hegseth and Caine are scheduled to testify before the Senate earlier in the day, where the conflict - launched by the US and Israel on February 28 - is expected to be a key focus. The White House briefing is set to follow the hearing.
