Iran warns US forces amid rising tensions
Iran signalled a hardening stance as senior military adviser Mohsen Rezaei warned of direct retaliation against US forces.- Rezaei said US warships enforcing a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz could be targeted, stating they “can definitely be exposed to our missiles and we can destroy them.”
- He warned that any US ground invasion would trigger mass hostage-taking.
- “We would take thousands of hostages and then for each hostage we would get a billion dollars,” he said.

Iran halts petrochemical exports
- Iran halted all petrochemical exports to prioritise domestic supply and prevent raw material shortages.

- Trump said the two sides recently held their first meeting in over three decades in Washington, D.C., with Marco Rubio, and directed Vice President JD Vance and top officials to work toward a lasting peace.
- He also plans to invite both leaders to the White House for further talks, expressing confidence that both Israel and Lebanon are willing to move toward a broader peace agreement.
- Trump also claimed that Iran will hand over nuclear material to the US, and that Tehran will no longer pursue atomic weapons.
