UK to provide Saudi Arabia defensive air-refuelling support against Houthis

The UK has agreed to help Saudi Arabia's military in countering the Houthis, as the kingdom comes under frequent attack from the Iran-backed militants.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham said he would provide "defensive air-to-air refueling" support after a request from Saudi Arabia.

The remarks confirmed that the new PM was set to approve the request from Riyadh for defensive operational support, including aerial refueling. The UK is the first country to publicly say it will give that level of military help to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's government, which has also asked the Americans.Blooomberg
