Udhampur terror attack: Naveed served as guard at LeT congregation in Lahore
NEW DELHI: Pakistani terrorist Mohammad Naveed, who was captured alive after the Udhampur attack earlier this month, served as a guard at the Lashkar-e-Taiba’s yearly congregation in Lahore in December 2014. This and other details of the 20-year-old, his family members, associates and friends were part of the dossier that India had prepared to hand over to Pakistan during the NSA-level talks that were cancelled last week.

The National Investigation Agency, which is probing the Udhampur attack, had compiled a dossier of Naveed, as per which he hails from Faisalabad and joined LeT after being spotted by a member of the organisation named Mohd Bashir.

After his training, Naveed had taken a special train to Lahore and stayed there for two days where he served as one of the guards at Minar-i-Pakistan monument. He claimed there were thousands of LeT militants who had gathered for the congregation including the top leadership of LeT, as per the dossier. Jamaat-Ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed also made a public appearance, as per Naveed.
