Two terrorists killed in Kulgam, operation on

Srinagar: Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Akhal area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir, the Army said on Saturday. The gunfight began on Friday evening following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

According to officials, one militant was killed in the initial exchange of fire, while another was neutralised after fresh firing resumed on Saturday morning.

"Intermittent and intense firefight continued through the night. Alert troops responded with calibrated fire and tightened the noose while maintaining contact," the Army's Chinar Corps said on X.


A senior police officer confirmed that two militants had been killed so far.-OPB
