Two policemen hurt in bomb blast triggered by Naxals
RAIPUR: Two police personnel were today injured when a pressure bomb laid by Naxals exploded in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Dantewada district, police said.

The incident took place under Aranpur police station limits when a police team was patrolling in the region to ensure security to an under construction road in Aranpur-Jagargunda ( Sukma) that goes through dense forests, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashyap told PTI.

"Around 1.5 kms away from Aranpur, when security forces were patrolling towards Jagargunda, two personnel inadvertently stepped over a pressure improvised explosive device (IED) that triggered a blast and injured them," the SP said.

Assistant sub-inspector Santosh Thakur and assistant constable Lalsingh Netam, both posted at Aranpur, sustained minor injuries in the blast and were admitted to a local hospital in Dantewada, the SP said.

Five security personnel had got injured in a gun-battle with ultras yesterday in Kistaram area of the neighbouring Sukma district.
