Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf launched a scathing attack on US President Donald Trump, warning that Washington risks being dragged into a “living HELL” after Trump issued an expletive-laden threat targeting Iran’s infrastructure.

In a post on X shortly after Trump’s remarks on Sunday, Ghalibaf said: "Your reckless moves are dragging the United States into a living HELL for every single family, and our whole region is going to burn because you insist on following Netanyahu’s commands. Make no mistake: You won’t gain anything through war crimes. The only real solution is respecting the rights of the Iranian people and ending this dangerous game."

The sharp exchange marks a further escalation in rhetoric between Washington and Tehran, with both sides issuing stark warnings amid ongoing tensions.

Trump, in a strongly worded post earlier, threatened sweeping military action if Iran fails to meet US demands, including opening the strategic Strait of Hormuz and reaching a deal to end the conflict.

"Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F****n' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah," Trump said.

In a separate interview, he added: "There is a good chance, but if they don't make a deal, I am blowing up everything over there," while suggesting negotiations were still ongoing and a deal could be reached before the deadline.

Iran promises retaliation ‘in kind’

Iran also signalled it would retaliate against any US strikes on its infrastructure. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei warned that Tehran would respond proportionately.

"Our armed forces have made it clear that in case Iran's infrastructure is attacked, we would react in kind," Baghaei said.

"Our armed forces would target any similar infrastructure that is owned or in any way or manner related to the United States or contributes to their act of aggression against Iran," he added.

Escalating threats and deadlines

The latest statements come after Trump reiterated his deadline for Iran to reach an agreement, warning of consequences if Tehran fails to comply.

Earlier, he claimed that Iran’s “biggest bridge” had already been hit and issued another warning urging Tehran to act before it is “too late.”

"The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again -- Much more to follow! IT IS TIME FOR IRAN TO MAKE A DEAL BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, AND THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF WHAT STILL COULD BECOME A GREAT COUNTRY!" Trump said.
