'7 jets downed': Trump says India-Pakistan clash could have turned nuclear

"I have stopped all of these wars. A big one would have been India and Pakistan. The war with India and Pakistan was the next level that was going to be a nuclear war... They already shot down seven jets, that was raging," Trump said.
He further said that he threatened of no trade until the two countries stopped fighting within 24 hours.
"I said, 'You want to trade? We are not doing any trade or anything with you if you keep fighting, you've got 24 hours to settle it'. They said, 'Well, there's no more war going on. ' I used that on numerous occasions. I used trade and whatever I had to use," he added.
Tensions between India and Pakistan had risen in May following India's Operation Sindoor to destroy terror launch pads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The action was taken as a revenge for the Pahalgam attack in Kashmir that killed 26 civilians on April 22.
The two countries saw heightened tension from May 7-10, before the fighting stopped. Even though Trump has claimed on several occasions that he was involved in the truce, India has denied it, saying New Delhi and Islamabad had DGMO level talks to agree upon the ceasefire.
