Top defence deals to be signed during India-Russia and BRICS summits
A brief on the four top defence deals to be signed between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin during the India-Russia summit in Goa on Saturday. The deals include Brahmos and FGFA.

Brahmos missile: India and Russia are likely to sign a contract to develop a new version of the missile at the India-Russia summit. This version will be a miniature one of the earlier missile- having a range of 300 kms. It could be used to target terrorist camps across the border in Pakistan. It can be launched by land, air and sea. This will be the first major upscaling of the Brahmos joint venture signed in 1998.
S-400 ‘Triumpf’ anti-missile defence systems: Russia has said that Putin will sign a deal with Modi to deliver Russia’s most advanced air defence system, Triumpf. The plan is worth Rs 39,000 crore. It can restrict the Pakistan Air Force’s ability to operate within its own airspace.
Ka-226T helicopters: Russia based Rostec State Corporation in a statement issued on October 12 said it expects to sign the agreement for production of Ka-226T helicopters in India at the BRICS summit. The agreement is on setting up a joint production facility of these helicopters in India. The contract for export and joint production of 200 Ka-226T helicopters.
