Three militants belonging to National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-KYA) killed in Arunachal Pradesh

Three militants belonging to the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-KYA) were killed in Arunachal Pradesh.

Assam Rifles along with Manipur police apprehended two cadres of militant outfit People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP)in two separate operations in Thoubal and Imphal East.

In a major offensive Assam Rifles in Arunachal’s Longding area launched an operation on Monday. The slain rebels belong to the Yung Aung-led NSCN-K. The area is in close proximity to the Indo-Myanmar border.


A defence spokesperson said, “Phundrei and Mantripukhri Battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) in joint operations with Manipur Police apprehended two cadres of terrorist groups PLA and KCP in two separate operations in Thoubal and Imphal East on Sunday”.

Based on specific inputs, troops of Assam Rifles along with Manipur Police launched these operations which led to the apprehensions. The KCP terrorist was involved in planting an IED at Khurai. The apprehended terrorists were handed over to Thoubal and Porompat Police Stations for further investigation.

Militants on Saturday last in Manipur’s Churachandpur district attacked a Assam Rifles convoy resulting in the death of an Assam Rifles Colonel, his two family members and four jawans.

Militant outfit PLA and Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) claimed responsibility for the attack.
