IMPHAL: Three militants were arrested by security forces from different places in Bishnupur district and Imphal East district of Manipur, a police official said today.

Two cadres of Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup(KYKL) were arrested on thursday by a combined team of Bishnupur police commando and Assam Rifles personnel from different places.

Two arrested militants were identified as Salam Kamraj Singh (40) of Naranseina Mayai Leikai and another militant was identified as Pukhrambam Bimol Singh (28) of Wangoo Sabal Mayai Leikai in Bishnupur district, the police official said.

Also another militant of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) was arrested from a rented house at Khurai Chaithabi Leirak in Imphal East district during the search operation.

The arrrested militant was identified as Lukram Johny Meitei (24) of Moreh Turel Wangma Ward No 7. On his disclosure one 9 mm pistol along with three live rounds and other incriminating articles were sezed from the rented house of M Nabakesho Meitei of Khurai Nandeibam Leikai on August 18.

Two cases have been registered at Bishnupur district police and Imphal East district police stations. Investigation were going on, release added.
