Tejas crash an ‘isolated occurrence’, says HAL
Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) clarified that the recent Tejas aircraft crash at the Dubai Air Show was an isolated incident due to exceptional circumstances, assuring no impact on business operations, financial performance, or delivery schedules...

Issuing a clarification to the stock exchanges, the company said the incident arose from “exceptional circumstances” and has no bearing on its ongoing programmes.
“This is an isolated occurrence arising out of exceptional circumstances,” HAL said in its filing.
Reassuring stakeholders, the aerospace major added, “We would like to assure that there is no impact on the Company’s business operations, financial performance or its future deliveries.”
HAL said it is cooperating with authorities investigating the mishap, in which Indian Air Force pilot Wing Commander Namansh Syal lost his life. The company said, “The Company is extending its full support and cooperation to the agencies conducting the investigation.”
The statement comes after HAL had earlier expressed grief over the loss, posting on X: “HAL is deeply saddened by the loss of the courageous IAF pilot during the aerial display at the Dubai Air Show. HAL expresses its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.”
The Dubai crash marks the second accident involving a Tejas aircraft in 20 months. The earlier incident, recorded in Jaisalmer in March last year, saw the pilot eject safely.
Meanwhile, HAL shares reacted sharply in morning trade, falling over 8% before recovering part of the losses.
