NEW DELHI: The Sahashtra Seema Bal (SSB) and Nepal Armed Police Forces (NAPF) have increased the frequency of their joint patrolling along the Indo-Nepal border in Bihar following the June 12 incident in which NAPF opened fire leading to the death of an Indian citizen in Sitamarhi district.

“SSB, which guards the 631 km-long Indo-Nepal border in Bihar, continues to remain in constant touch with its counterparts in Nepal to enhance mutual trust,” said Sanjay Kumar, IG, SSB (Bihar).

Nepal shares boundaries with Bihar’s different districts, including West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul and Araria.

Meanwhile, SSB is learnt to have requested the senior officials of NAPF to ensure proper counselling of NAPF jawans, who guard the border from the Nepal side, in view of the unique socio-cultural relation between the two countries.
