Spanish defence and technology company Indra said on Wednesday it expects a rise in spending on defence in Europe, mainly on high-tech, will boost its revenues and profitability over the next six years.

The company expects its core earnings (EBITDA) to soar to above 750 million euros ($814 million) in 2026 - up from 446 million euros in 2023 - out of 6 billion euros in revenues compared to 4.34 billion euros last year.

It also sees revenue rising to 10 billion euros by 2030.

Indra said the increased spending by European countries on modernising defence systems in the wake of new military conflicts as well as the new wave of digitalisation led by artificial intelligence, cloud computing and cybersecurity will provide opportunities for growth.

Earlier this week, the European Commission unveiled plans to boost the continent's arms industry.

Indra, who is 25%-owned by the Spanish government, said it plans to invest 3.1 billion euros in technology development by 2030, partly financed by asset disposals.
