JAIPUR: Tributes were paid today to the martyrs of Indian Army at a solemn ceremony at ' Prerna Sthal' here to mark 12th raising day of South Western Army Command.

South Western Army Commander Lt Gen Sarath Chand recalled the sacrifice made by the martyrs and expressed his gratitude for their contribution towards greater solidarity and overall development of the command, Defence Spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha said.

The General exhorted them to uphold glorious traditions of the Sapta Shakti Command, he said in a statement.

The command in addition to guarding the frontiers, provides assistance to the civil administration during natural calamities and in maintenance of law and order, the statement said.
