Solar Defence and Aerospace Ltd’s Nagastra 2 loitering munition system, designed for precision strikes against armoured targets, completed technical trials at the Mahajan Field Firing Range in August 2026, according to the company.
Equipped with day-and-night surveillance cameras and a 4 kg tandem shaped-charge warhead, Nagastra 2 is designed to pierce targets protected by up to 650 mm of Rolled Homogeneous Armour (RHA).
The system features an endurance of up to 60 minutes, along with an operational range of 25 km when used in recover-and-reuse mode and 50 km in fire-and-forget mode. These features deliver significant operational flexibility for precision strikes against armoured targets.
A standout technological capability of Nagastra 2 is its Electronic Counter-Countermeasures (ECCM) system, built to bolster resilience in electronically contested battlefield environments. This feature enhances its ability to function despite electronic warfare threats, such as communication jamming as well as GPS jamming and spoofing.
