Russia strikes Ukraine's cabinet of ministers building in Kyiv

For the first time since the war broke out between Russia and Ukraine, Moscow on Sunday targeted Kyiv's cabinet of ministers building.

Ukraine Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed the attack saying Russia had attacked the main building of Ukraine's government. She said that the roof and the upper floors were damaged, adding that firefighters were working to control the damage.

Russia launched a mass drone and missile attack on Ukraine' capital, killing at least two people and injuring 15 others. Among the dead was a one-year-old child, whose body was dug out of the rubble, said Tymur Tkachenko, the head of Kyiv's city administration.


Further, Russian drone debris struck a nine-story residential building in Kyiv's Sviatoshynskyi district and a four-storey residential building in Darnytskyi district, said Mayor Vitallii Klitschko.

Sunday's attack is the second mass Russian drone and missile attack to target Kyiv in the span of two weeks. This comes only weeks after Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Alaska for talk with American President Donald Trump.
