Smart police plan: Intelligence Bureau site to display martyrs record
The website will be linked to the websites of state police and district police under the ‘SMART Police’ plan so that citizens become aware of good acts done by police.

NEW DELHI: The Intelligence Bureau has decided to create a first of its kind website to put on record police personnel that lost their lives in the line of duty and “good work done by the police”.
The website will be linked to the websites of state police and district police under the ‘ SMART Police’ plan so that citizens become aware of good acts done by police, officials said.
This was discussed on Friday at a meeting chaired by home minister Rajnath Singh on the SMART Police plan announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year.
A revised Model Police Act 2015 will be framed to include the component of SMART Police plan while Delhi Police has been tasked with launching its e-FIR project for stolen vehicles very soon and also help a similar roll-out by the Hyderabad and Bengaluru Police. Singh directed his ministry to conduct an examination of the best police practices prevailing in other countries and customise the same for the Indian police.
