Six Indian soldiers injured in last Friday's clash with their Chinese counterparts were undergoing treatment at the Army's 151 Base Hospital in Guwahati's Basistha, a state government official said on condition of anonymity.

"There was hand to hand combat, and a few of our soldiers were injured. There were more injuries on the Chinese side," an Army insider claimed. Reacting to the clashes, Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu, who represents a constituency in Tawang, said in a tweet, "Yangtse is in my assembly constituency and every year I meet the jawans and villagers of the area. It's not 1962 anymore. If anyone tries to transgress, our brave soldiers will give a befitting reply."
