Security forces have intensified checks in Srinagar and nearby districts. This comes after intelligence reports indicated a potential targeted attack in the coming days. Police and paramilitary personnel are frisking vehicles, especially two-wheel...

The Jammu and Kashmir police and paramilitary forces have set up check points at several places frisking vehicles majorly two wheelers and cars with number plates from other states.
A senior police official said that they have inputs regarding a possible "targetted attack" which has made the frisking necessary.
"There is a strong input regarding movement of ultras and possible targeted attack which is why there is increased frisking of vehicles. Two wheelers are generally used for such attacks," said an official.
Over the past two weeks, police has detained, summoned and questioned scores of suspects to crack the information about the "possibility of attack and movement of ultras."
"We are also looking for a white Ford Eco Sport which is suspected to be transporting militants," said an official from southern Kashmir.
